Numerology and the Bible

The Bible is filled with symbolic numbers, and numerological patterns. Let us begin with the significance of the number 3.

In the book of Jonah, Jonah lived in the belly of the whale for 3 days and 3 nights. In the New Testement, the number 3 appears many times when telling the story of Jesus. Jesus was tempted by Satan 3 times. Jesus prayed in the garden of Gesthemane to God 3 times before he was cruxified. When Jesus was nailed on the cross, he was among two robbers (that makes 3 crosses) and ressurected to life after 3 days. Jesus also prophesied that his disciple Peter would deny him 3 times before the cock crows. After Jesus was cruxified, Peter denies Jesus 3 times then the cock crowed, as Jesus prophesied.
